Every Thanksgiving, Springmoor puts on a traditional meal in
each dining room from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If that’s not on your agenda this
year, there are plenty of other places to get together with family and friends.
Over the past few weeks, both The News
and Observer and WRAL have compiled their lists of restaurants with
Thanksgiving hours and even those with carry-out options.
Margaux’s has been a neighborhood favorite for more than
two decades with their frequently-changing menu and always outstanding
service. This Thanksgiving, they’re
serving a four-course prix fixe menu, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., including entrees
ranging from roasted turkey to filet to grilled salmon, with a vegetarian
option as well. Each entrée is served with familiar sides of red bliss mash,
candied marshmallow yams, green bean mushroom casserole, traditional stuffing
and collard greens. There are plenty of desserts to choose from, too!
Just outside of Crabtree Valley Mall, McCormick and Schmick’s will be
open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. They’re
serving their full menu of fresh seafood and steaks, plus a special
Thanksgiving meal, so this may be the place to go if not everyone in your group
has their heart set on turkey. The location couldn’t be more perfect for
heading to the stores that will open on Thanksgiving for a little early Black
Friday shopping.
Throwing celebrations and throwing them well is the standard at The Angus Barn, with Thanksgiving being no exception. They will be serving their annual
Thanksgiving Day buffet from noon to 6 p.m.
If you’re expecting a crowd with vegetarians, gluten-free diets, or other
dietary requests, you may want to head closer to downtown to Irregardless Café. With local ingredients, global
flavors and accommodations for special diets, there is something for everyone
on their Thanksgiving menu, even for those with a taste for the traditional.
So, don’t worry about heating up the oven and polishing up
the silver, there are plenty of places nearby that will be open and ready to do
the Thanksgiving cooking for you and your family—including Springmoor!
